Opinions of over 4,700 people solicited on draft report to CPC congress: spokesperson

BEIJING, Oct. 17 -- Opinions of more than 4,700 people have been solicited on the draft report to be submitted to the upcoming 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) by the CPC Central Committee, a congress spokesperson said Tuesday.

These people are from various regions and departments, including delegates to the Party's 18th National Congress and the newly-elected delegates to the 19th National Congress, Tuo Zhen told a press conference.

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, has held six symposiums to hear opinions and suggestions from people of various sectors on the draft report, according to the spokesperson.

The report, along with a CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection work report and an amendment to the CPC Constitution, will be submitted for deliberation at the week-long congress, scheduled to open Wednesday.
