BEIJING, Oct. 17 -- A preparatory meeting of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has appointed Liu Yunshan as secretary-general of the congress, a spokesman said Tuesday.
Tuo Zhen, spokesman for the 19th CPC National Congress, made the announcement at a press conference about preparations for the Party congress, which is held every five years.
