CPC delegate: More than 40 percent of 4G users worldwide from China

By the end of August of this year, the number of mobile phone subscribers totaled 1.38 billion nationwide, among which, the number of 4G users reached 930 million, accounting for more than 40 percent of the world’s 4G users, said an official on Thursday.

Yang Jie, Chairman and Secretary of the Party Group of China Telecom Corporation, said this during a group interview held at the press center of the 19th CPC National Congress on October 19.

The number of fixed broadband subscribers reached 330 million, among which, the number of fiber broadband users amounted 272 million, accounting for more than 60 percent of the world’s fiber broadband users, ranking first in the world, added Yang Jie, who is also a delegate to the ongoing 19th National Congress of the CPC.
